IMPACT OF PRASHANTH KISHOR IN BIHAR A new chapter is beginning in Bihar politics with the upcoming 2025 Assembly Election. Prashant Kishor — once known as India’s top election strategist — is now entering the Bihar election field in a way that could change state politics.
Why is this important?
For many years, Bihar’s politics has been controlled by caste-based voting, family-run parties, and traditional political groups. Kishor wants to change that.
He has started a new party called Jan Suraaj Party, promising clean politics and choosing candidates based on talent, not caste or money. His team plans to contest all 243 seats in the state.
Through his “Bihar Badlao Yatra” (Change Bihar March), Kishor visited thousands of villages, focusing on issues like youth migration, unemployment, and better governance, instead of old caste-based politics.
Experts say that if his party gets even 15–18% of votes, it could win around 40 seats — enough to make a big impact or disturb the vote balance between major parties.
However, there is also doubt — Kishor has said he will not contest the election himself. So, the future of his movement depends on how well his new party performs, how strong their local teams are, and whether they can win the trust of voters who usually support old political groups.
